wanted dead or alive in Oaktown

that's not just for fake Western posters anymore.

Thanks to the bankster libertarianism, many
large, dangerous American cities cannot
afford good police coverage, so the
vigilantes are taking over.

they're posting their own wanted posters too

“Wanted” Signs Emerge in Oakland as Residents Police Themselves
Posted on March 2, 2013
So this is what is happening in Oakland, one of the many forgotten about, left-behind corners of America.  From CBS:
OAKLAND (KPIX 5) – Oakland’s crime problems have gotten so bad that some people aren’t even bothering to call the cops anymore; instead, they’re trying to solve and prevent crimes themselves.
In a neighborhood that has started to feel like the wild west, people have even started posting “wanted” signs.
Personally, I think this is the only “Wanted” sign that people should be putting up all over America.
Bernank Wanted Sign

You have to walk around in your house with a gun to feel safe here,” said Alaska Tarvins of the Arcadia Park Board of Directors.

Over the weekend, one home was burglarized twice in a 24 hour period, once while a resident’s nephew was inside.

Now, Arcadia park neighbors are taking the detective work into their own hands.

KPIX 5 found a woman who identified herself as L.E. patrolling her neighborhood by car. She said she recently chased down a couple of robbers herself.

While the macro problems that have led to this are deplorable, there is one silver lining.  The crime crisis is forcing neighbors to get to know each other and come to solutions on their own within their community.  Since we all know by now the bureaucracy will not be coming to the rescue, the sooner we figure out solutions on our own the better.

mind that gap, not this one

how gaps can be charming

the Evening Standard made an interesting non-story
last week about the charm of warning people that
they risked falling onto the rat infested
Underground line.
How British is that? It's the way that the warning
is given and apparently the person whose voice
it is.
Originally there was Oswald Lawrence, an actor,
on the Northern Line. No, he didn't act there.

On the Central , it was Peter Lodge's
timbre that saved many a shoe from
being gapped.
He did it because the actor he signed up
to do it wanted royalties. I'll bet he was
willing to count trains too.

London's U-ground used to be ashamed of
their gaps because they were dangerous
and looked like the bad engineering that
they were. But, nothing like tea and
a warm voice to smooth things over, over here.

Now, of course, it's a money-making venture
with mugs and t-shirts and other useless bumf.
well, people gotta drink, and wear something to
spill something on.

There's the American comic perspective too.
Arj Barker says "I don't mind the gap. In fact
I love it." Never lost a shoe, then.

There's the personal. In my experience as
a young lad, the gap that we were interested
in was between girls' legs.
The bigger the gap, the fitter the girl, was the
philosophy.
I don't mind that gap. In fact, I love it.

I know when I've been beat. There's this Chive
website that does this regularly:

Oh ya? Chive? Well, check this knowledge, son:

Andrew Martin: Why ‘mind the gap’ is central to London’s charm

12 March 2013

Until last year, the iconic “mind the gap” announcement on the northbound Northern line platform at Embankment was one of the original, rather schoolmasterly ones. Yet Dr Margaret McCollum would make pilgrimages to hear it — because it was spoken by her actor husband, Oswald Laurence, in the late 1960s; he had died in 2007.

Last November, Dr McCollum realised that a new, more emollient voice had replaced that of her husband. She wrote to London Underground, which has promised to restore her husband’s recording. The widespread coverage of this heart-warming tale confirms the appeal of the gnomic injunction to “mind the gap”.

Gaps occur where the curvature of the platform — usually necessitated by the need to skirt around important foundations — is greater than the curvature of a train. A friend of mine can list them all as a party piece, and once undertook to do this for me. Five minutes in, I stopped him and asked, “How long is this likely to take?” He said, “about 20 minutes”, so I asked him to confine himself to gaps on the Northern line, and he was off: “Woodside Park has a very slight

For those concerned about the damage to the world
from this post, there's comes help in the form
of Sociology prof Camille Paglia, who says that
male gaze theory is not logical:

Read 'em: Times Higher Education

Paglia goes on to criticise feminist critics who have
"waded into film studies with a theory that
'the male gaze' is intended to objectify and degrade
women"
She adds: "The same argument was used about strip clubs.
Whenever they are shown in movies, you have this
ridiculous politically correct thing of the poor
women on stage and the men laughing derisively.
"But I went to three different strip clubs for Penthouse
in 1994, and what I saw was the woman on stage ruling
the room and the men desperate for their attention,
begging them to take their money."

Cos67 may be a prophet, part 6

RE:
my story on the fluoride mafia on 10 of Feb this year

PROOF: a Russia Today story on Abby Martin's show
Breaking the Set, last week

MY POINTS:
- it is a big scary mafia
- bloggers lead the way for the correct media
(i.e. forget the mainstream media)

Abby showed how the fluoride in our water, if you're in
many Western countries such as Australia and the US,
is not really the same as the fluoride in our toothpaste,
but it is a by-product (read: chemical waste) of the
fertiliser & aluminum smelting process. Sweet!

So, there was money to be made. Big money. "How do
we get past the Food Safety Communists?"
they asked.
An Alcoa bastard was made public health czar so
that this could be done to the American people.

and it's classed as a "drug"!
Call the DEA the Dept of Alcohol Tobacco and
Water-borne Drugs

So, when I said that fluoride was costing $300 000
to a small city in Australia, I said: this is a money-
making venture first and foremost, for a mafia.

Well, the mafia is the smelters and their friends in
government. Lots of scientific proof (wish I had some)
is showing that fluoride harms mental health and hearts
and vascular systems.
50% of the stuff stays in the body. The rest is pissed out.

Let sweet Abby tell you

A bedtime story for our times

There once was a time when the land was blissful.
Children slept well, with dreams of iPads
jumping over fences.

And the parents slept all night, without a financial
worry to weigh on their minds.

Unbeknownst to them, while they were enjoying
the sleep of the comfortable, along came a
number of bankers who were beavering
away around the clock.

You see? they were in banking centres around
the world, so that banking never slept.
Beyond the control of any one government.

They had created light-as-a-butterfly pieces of
paper that they traded with one another.
Now these pretty papers were less than
worthless, but fools were ready
to buy them because of the sterling
reputation of the bank, keeping
people's coins safe.

The pieces of paper were piled so high,
that one day, they all fell down
and the banks were gasping for air.
The King heard these cries and used
Monetised paper shovels to dig through
the original pile and save the bankers.

And the bankers rejoiced, by themselves

LET THEM EAT PINK SLIME

I've got a few stories in the works for
the horrible state of affairs in food laws.
The US in particular has no testing of
the packaged food they allow companies
to sell us.

It won't kill you right away, but the stuff steals
years off your life. Well, if you're a fool, then,
there you go.
Ever read the label on those Twinkies?
Check my twitter: Chemlabmenu
where I put the wicked food I've actually
eaten.

However, now with the horse meat scandal
you see how companies are killing each other
to sell us food-looking crap.
They're done because these companies can
package and ship this crap for cheaper than
real food.
It is one of the ways that they've lulled us to
sleep over the last 4 decades, while our
wages have flatlined. They make a killing on
the stock market, and we eat pink slime and
are told it's meat.

So, the poor are eating Franken food and getting
obese.
But , politicians, a la Marie Antoinette, are saying
"let them eat horse slime!"

In case of an epidemic,
I think the antidote is Cohiba cigars
Ad line: no kitty litter or horse aqui

Give horsemeat-tainted food to poor - German minister
Dirk Niebel said it would be irresponsible to throw away palatable and safe food
Horsemeat scandal
Germany's development minister has suggested that horsemeat mislabelled as beef should be distributed to the poor.
Dirk Niebel said he supported the proposal by a member of the governing CDU party, and concluded: "We can't just throw away good food."

The opposition dismissed the idea, but a priest said it should be considered.

Meanwhile, traces of horse DNA have been found in six tonnes of minced beef and 2,400 packs of lasagne Bolognese seized from a company in Italy.

The products were packaged by Italian group Primia, based near Bologna.

The health ministry said Primia had used meat from another company in Brescia and originally supplied by two other companies, also based there.

It is the first positive test in Italy since the scandal erupted last month.

To throw away food that could be consumed without risk is equally bad as false labelling and cannot be a solution”

Prelate Bernhard Felmberg Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD)

Earlier on Saturday, the Italian authorities said they had found no traces of horsemeat in beef products seized this week from the Swiss food giant Nestle.

On Monday, Nestle announced that it was withdrawing two types of beef pasta meals from supermarkets in Italy and Spain after tests revealed traces of horse DNA.

A problem was identified with a supplier in Germany, H J Schypke, it said.

Two other German companies, Dreistem-Konserven and Vossko, have been accused of manufacturing products containing horsemeat. Both have also blamed their own suppliers.

On Friday, Germany's consumer affairs ministry announced that it had now found traces of horse DNA in 67 of 830 food products tested.
'Absurd'

On Saturday, a prominent member of Germany's governing CDU party, Hartwig Fischer, told Bild newspaper that products tainted with horsemeat should be distributed to the poor.

The BBC's Steve Evans in Berlin says others have echoed the sentiment, including Mr Niebel, who said there were 800 million people in the world who were hungry.

Meat scandal

In mid-January, Irish food inspectors announced they had found horsemeat in some burgers stocked by UK supermarket chains
Subsequently, up to 100% horsemeat found in several ranges of prepared frozen food in Britain, France and Sweden
Concerns that a drug used to treat horses, and which may be harmful to humans, could be in food chain
Meat traced from France through Cyprus and The Netherlands to Romanian abattoirs
Investigation suggests adulteration was not accidental but the work of a criminal conspiracy

who needs a conspiracy?

We oligarchs have Google. We're tuned into the
rich bitch zeitgeist.

Professor George Carlin explains to the fool
he's talking to why the Conservative shirking
phrase: "Oh, you're a conspiracy theorist"

is fundamentally wrong because a conspiracy
would mean sweaty guys in a bunker
dreaming up a coup. Now, the rich have
all the levers of power, the media and all
the money, and a scared populace, so
they don't need a conspiracy to rob us.
They just don't apply the ample laws and
cancel other inconvenient laws to keep
their thieving friends out of jail.
Let's cut to the video:

Just one more billion, please

I'm begging you , Mr President, and then
I'll stop gambling- a Wall Street banker.

I know that the human psyche needs
success to keep the morale up, but
what motivates plutocrats is not
success , any more, it is the accumulation
of country-destroying political power.

Let's cut to Lee, the Indignado:

Eton out of hand

The biggest coup of the last 5 years has been
perpetrated by the patrician class on the
British political system. They're
sprouting up everywhere.

The Prime Minister, and to a lesser degree
George the Fin Min. The mayor of the
London (non-City of London Corp), and
ever more.

No school represents that image
better than Eton, with their tie and tails.

This was from a clip in the Evening Standard.
and it really shows what they're made of:

Naturally their Gangnam version was
the first issue of note.

Charity boss: Oxbridge grads tend
to avoid work by running or starting
a charity. Lots of free wine and cheese,
and hob-nobbing to be had. [Let's not forget
NGOs as another fine, hi-class work-dodge]
Simon Konecki is the example given
and he happens to be the secret
sperm donor for Adele, the songstress.

Sir George Young. chief whip, but he
looks like he couldn't really hold a whip.

James Bond does an Austin Powers:
Whatever his name is, the latest one,
the metrosexual blond guy. anyway,
apparently, he "was expelled from
Eton after being caught having a
steamy dalliance with one of the
school's maids."
That's more like it.

Atheists have their own myths

I don't care about the Christian vs
Atheism arguments. But it's odd how
atheists think in much the same way
as religionists, except that atheists
think that they're objective when
actually they're a bunch of stupid
nerds, wasting their time tilting
at windmills.

Case in point was a story that is
a few years old (I've been busy).

The Atheists, with a capital A,
just like a religion, wanted to
do good. a public service, in fact.
They wanted to make people feel
joy and the way they felt that would
be done was through aleviating
their fear and shame that they
acquired from their religion, I guess.

The message goes like this:
There's probably no God, now
stop worrying and enjoy your life.

Where do I start?

Already said that they think that
religionists are sad, and miserable
perhaps because they won't let
themselves cavort and have sex
 in public.

Next, I like the "probably" as if
they're hedging their bets.

And the kicker is their belief that
being an Atheist, like them,
will make you happy. Meanwhile,
these same Atheists look like
nerds who are so meek, they have
to pay for the graffiti they want
to put on a bus. That, my friends,
is a sign of happiness.

Atheist bus ads 'pathetic:' Philosopher
Thanks to Crapsquire for the link.
http://www.canada.com/life/Atheist+pathetic+Philosopher/1834362/story.html
Canada's most renowned philosopher has weighed in provocatively on the debate surrounding the "atheist bus" campaign, describing as "pathetic" the cross-Canada advertising effort to promote the idea that "there's probably no God."

In an interview published Monday by the British-based magazine Philosophy Now, McGill University professor Charles Taylor first labelled as "hilariously funny" the controversial bus-ad crusade, then compared the humanist groups waging the campaign to reactionary 19th-century bishops who got "very rattled and very angry" following the publication of Charles Darwin's landmark 1859 treatise about evolution, On the Origin of Species.

"Putting things on buses, as though that's going to make people somehow change their view about God, the universe, the meaning of life and so on," scoffed Taylor, a defender of religious faith and the recent winner of philosophy's two most prestigious international prizes following the 2007 publication of A Secular Age, his latest acclaimed critique of modern life.
...
"I'm kind of flattered that he would comment on our bus campaign — though he's not terribly sympathetic," said Justin Trottier, the Toronto-based Freethought official who spearheaded the probably-no-God publicity blitz.

"But I think he misses the point on a number of fronts," argued Trottier. "The point of the campaign was not a response to rising religiosity, it's an affirmation of the rising number of unbelievers. Unbelievers have never been organized to the extent that they are now — whether they call themselves atheists or humanists or freethinkers . . . The movement for science, reason and secularism has never had these numbers."

GDP boost from girlie shopping

It's not enough that New York was living through a hurrican
that cost it all sorts of millions to fix, but you had rich
bitches who wanted to shop.
You remember, "whenever there's a disaster, it's time to
shop"- Bush43

Anyway, Joan Collins was the Quote of the day, back then
when she said: True disaster is that Bloomingdale's is
closed today. Where's a girl to shop during a hurricane.

I know she's using "girl" in an allusion to a phrase she
ripped off. Still, lots of women my age are calling
themselves "girl".

Also, that a newspaper would pick up this sh*t
quote as quote of the day means that they think
we're either stupid consumers, or lovers of
Monty Python -style absurdity. A phrase without
a single of word of meaning.
